Founded in October 2019 by Entrepreneur Chris Tellison and WNBA Hall of Famer and 3X Olympian Sheryl Swoopes-Tellison, Back to Our Roots is a non-profit organization with the mission to empower and educate today’s youth to believe in themselves through farming, gardening, goal setting, sports and exploring different cultures; particularly in Africa.

 

BTOR was created because of a vision that Chris and Sheryl had to encourage youth to accept their differences and learn about their culture. They also want to show them how sports can connect people from all over the world. In addition to this, we want to teach and educate our youth on the importance of growing your own food.

 

We will achieve these goals through farming, gardening, field trips, basketball camps/clinics, seminars with guest speakers, mentoring programs and traveling.
